About Us
Flying Hands Music School & Voice School was founded in 1997 by Louisville native, Brian Curella. When Brian began playing guitar at the age of 9, he realized music was something for which he was deeply passionate. In high school, he began playing in various bands, which he continued throughout his 20s. He attended Belmont University, Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville during this time as well. It was then that he began giving private lessons and realized his talent for teaching. That, combined with a business savvy personality and an innovative mind, is what gave Brian the idea to combine everything he loved into his own business. Because Brian has always enjoyed simply just composing and playing music as well, Flying Hands started as a music production library, and that's how Brian got the name "Flying Hands" for his music school.
Since 1997, Flying Hands has taught over 6000 students and has expanded to a school with over 10 instructors. The production library got rave reviews in trade magazines for their work on commercials and film, but Brian sold the production library to focus on the growing music school. He still frequently composes music, and you can find him playing in various gigs around town with the Brian Curella Trio.
